Interesting information regarding the protests going on... people who have been there for even just two days have gained weight. I am not actually sure how this came to be and if any statistics have been noted on this yet, but I have heard about this on various news/talk stations this morning. I just thought it kind of odd... Anyway, I am loving that this is such a popular topic on facebook, but on local news (when covering national stuff) the protests are not really mentioned. I also think that’s odd (heh) and maybe convenient…good link I read the other day, but at this point learning about this from whatever angel or viewpoint is all interesting. I hope the link works!

One reason for the weight gain is that these being very well organized protests we have focused on various necessities that society may not provide to all of us in an accessible manner. One of those necessities is food. At every occupied location there have been concerted efforts to welcome the homeless and hungry into the camps even if its just to grab a meal at the food tents. For some people this has been the first time in over a year since they have sat with other for a warm meal with dignity and pride. Other camps are dedicated to medical needs, media, recharge stations, occupied libraries, sanitation, security, etc
